| Re: guarantee work but not registered ? | | you only need to become a sole trader,keep 20%OF YOUR INCOME FOR TAX,contact national insurance people and pay your nat ins by direct debit,keep a record of all your receipts for materials and file them with the copy of the invoice for that job,then at end of year contact an accountant or bookkeeper who will sort out all your tax for you for a set fee.Hope this helps.No need to mention guarantees when pricing a job as PJC says just go back and fix within a reasonable period,five years IMO is a bit excesive. | |

| Re: guarantee work but not registered ? | | I was vat registered, with my previous business, but i only worked for big companies, unless your going to turnover £60,000 a year then you wont need to, also you will put a lot of private customers off, as it will make you more expensive than they guy who isn't. As for guaranteeing your work for 5 years thats to long, i would only say a year if anybody asks. | | |
