Default Part ceramic part carpet floor

Hi guys, I sort of know how to tile a floor as I have done it at home once and turned out beautifully.

However my recent problem is knowing how to part tile and part carpet a floor.

What I want is two thirds of the floor tiled and the remainder carpeted however the border between carpet and tiles is not to be straight but in a bespoke curve.

So i want a wavy joint between the two.

Likewise my question is, how would I do this. Would I have to draw out the curv on the floor and cut the end tiles one by one or do i lay the tiles out roughly bleeding the line and somehow cutting them whilst solid on the floor.

Dont know if have made myself clear but do let me know guys iof you understand what Im saying otherwise I shall have to upload an illustration.

cheers

Hi gaz im typing this message for a second time as my rubbish new laptop keeps going back unexpectedly.

Regarding cutting tiles i use an angle grinder which is not the most precise means of cutting id say. Likewise what would you recommed to cutting tiles.

Furthermore, the new tiles i should be using are really nicely cut i.e. with perfect cut edges unlike normal tiles which are curvy on the ends. The previous floor tiles i did were the curvy type which although were layed nice and accurately may not be the same result with these new porceline type tyles. I am wanting to enhance precision in laying the tiles so that all of them are very flush to one another. The other thing i am concerned about is the nice shiny glazed finish. When grouting, how can i avoid scratches.

Likewise the three things im wanting some help on are, precision cutting, precision laying method and best grouting method.

Normally I mix the cement and spready it evenly using a notch trowl but any additional tips would be great

Use a fine sanded grout..then no probs with scratching..make sure its a flexi one then it will adhere to the tiles edges with them being porcelain.....

O stupid me, I forgot to mention for straight cuts I do use one of them big tile cutters. When cutting I was referring to curvy and edgy cuts which I use an angle grinder for and I do use the diamond cut blade. However around the edge im cutting is always left very rough i.e. with a few little chips on the main surface edge. That is what i am trying to eliminate.

Also regarding laying all the tiles evenly, how do i enhance that?

lol I even use that, I dont know how to explain myself. I can get the tiles very close to perfect but with these new tiles being so perfectly rectangle with perfect cut edges, I want to get the tiles milimeter perfect like they have in commercial floors.

I was looking in my relatives newly tiled bathroom and he had such a nice result, pitty he paid someone to do it for him so could speak to the person lol

Lol any understand what im trying to say or would i need to illustrate
