    Default Tiling around pipes

Hi. Im not sure where to start on the job I'm on. There are pipes coming from the floor and going up against the wall. Some pipes are right against the wall and others give just enough room for a tile behind it. What's the best way around these so it still looks good? This is in the toilet. Then in a kitchen below the boiler are many pipes against the wall. What's the best way around these?

    Thanks.

box them in as long as you dont need access in the bathroom,if you do need access make an access panel using til emagnets

as for under the boiler, make some removable boxwork and tile it tight to the walls but dont silicone these internals as the whole thing must be removable for a boiler

Thing is there are pipes coming out of other pipes and these go from the floor all the way up the wall and round the room. Will boxing in all of that still look good?

No they really just want it tiled. Yes all internal. I could get tiles behind some of the pipes but not the others they are connected to.

Change the pipe work so it looks uniform and neat and tidy, so giving you a chance to show them a good job of tiling

sounds like you will be boxing them in m8.

I always find it easier using plasterboard for boxing in pipes, just a heads up for you.

Boxing in is best but if it is not an option what about changing the exposed pipes to chrome ones?

    The options I explored were
    1) Box in the whole room so you have a flat surface.

    2) Part box the room so you have different levels.

When I had a 4" soil stack to box in it was a major loss of space in the room so to compensate I built in niches for storage and made a feature.

The soil stack was so big to box in so I cut niches into the plasterboard to use the space.
