Leveling compound over undertile heating, how thick??
Iv just put down tile backer board and undertile heating cable over the top. Went over today with self leveling compound but not sure if iv enough over the cable. In a few places you can still see the top of the cable, is this ok or is it best i go over again with a thin skim so everything is fully coverd?
Thanks

Re: Leveling compound over undertile heating, how thick??
Hello and welcome... as long as you can lay the tiles flat in the adhesive bed and get full coverage then it is fine..

I normally just lay it flush with the top of the mat, but it does depends on how level the floor it in the first place.

Thanks for quick replys! Its more just here and there where the wire hasnt quite been touching the backer board.

I'm sure it will be fine, just be careful you don't nick one as you trowel over it..

Is it still laying flat? Sometimes they have a tendancy to lift where the cable loops round and as the SLC dries under it you cant then push it back down. So long as its flat follow the advice above
