    Default Glue!

I have a kitchen to do at work, total rip out and install anew.
Took the vinyl tiles up this afternoon (came up real easy with a floor scraper). The glue has stayed down and is impossible to scrape up! Do I need to sand it back to the screed before tiling or can I tile over it or self level then tile?

Have you tried softening it with a heat gun Deri?

What about a heat gun on the glue to soften perhaps

Not used a heat gun no. It's not really that thick and it is more of a tar like substance than a adhesive.
At the moment I am working for a housing association updating all the houses that become empty so there will be more to come of this sort of thing. The last one I did were newer vinyl tiles and I used a blow-torch and glue and tile came up in one.
My charge-hand says just self level over and tile it and get the job done.
Wish I was still my own boss!

That's what I used Bootle. Better when the tiles are down though and heated. That way the adhesive tends to stick to the tile rather than the floor.
