Default Bath frame, aquapanel alone ok?

About to frame and tile a bath. I was intending to use 12mm aquapanel fixed to a stud frame, but looking at some pics on here wondering whether I should use ply with ap on top. Cost is a real issue for the customer.

watch out for the thickness plus the tile. fitted Aqua panel but recessed around the legs so the tile was flush with the bath

i use "No more ply" as it's strong and only 6mm thick. Also make access panel from it with magnetic catches to keep it in place and silicone joint instead of grout.

Used no more ply on last one I did with catches and worked well (although I struggled to get panel to sit flush -had catches wrong way round!! D'oh!!). I've got some aquapanel left from boxing round concealed loo so wanted to use it up.
Good point about thickness faithhealer. Cheers all.
