Does anyone recognise this stone? in the
Tiling Forum at TilersForums;
I had a sample of this sent over to me for identification. Has anyone got any ideas of what it is...limestone yes..but what type?

Looks like a piece of the columns at the Parthenon in Athens - the site of the Acroplolis - so could it be some of the Elgin Marbes from the British Museum!
Pentelic Marble perhaps!
