Discuss Does anyone recognise this stone? in the Tiling Forum at TilersForums; I had a sample of this sent over to me for identification. Has anyone got any ideas of what it is...limestone yes..but what type? Thanks Pebbs myst stone.jpg...

    Default Does anyone recognise this stone?

    I had a sample of this sent over to me for identification. Has anyone got any ideas of what it is...limestone yes..but what type?

    Looks like a piece of the columns at the Parthenon in Athens - the site of the Acroplolis - so could it be some of the Elgin Marbes from the British Museum!
    Pentelic Marble perhaps!

    Cant be that one Dave, Pebbs sample has vertical lines and yours are horizontal.
