    Default Quartz Tiles Problem

Hi all, I was on here a few weeks ago regarding black quartz tiles. I now have these tiles laid into my bathroom and kitchen floor but now is the real problem. They just aren't shiny black they look all dull and it is really doing my head. My tiler put them down last Saturday/Sunday using Mapei adhesive and the Kerapoxy glitter grout stuff. He told me not to do anything on it for 4 days and then I tried to clean it using Warm water and fairy liquid but it still looks all dull so I went to tile giant today and bought some wax tile cleaner but it still looks the same when dry. Can somebody please give me some advice as I'm at the stage where it has cost me over £1,200.00 and I'm about to go in there and smash them up!!

Waxwash was the cleaner recommended and tile magic told me I did not need to seal these.

As Jay says pics will help, sounds to me as if the epoxy grout has not been removed properly. Maybe a residue on the surface of the tile, pics would help.

My recomendation would be to try some power stripper (add just a small amount of water) to try and strip the residue and then clean with grimex and rinse with water.

For peice of mind I would then reseal with MPG sealer.

If using the above method I would try in a small area first.

Waxwash would never be strong enough to remove epoxy grout residue in my opinion.

Another possability is that the dull finnish on the tile you mention is a sticky residue left over from a protective film. Where your tiles packaged with a stick plastic sheet on each tile? If so then there may be some residue which caused the epoxy to stick to it. (if this was the case Grimex alone may work)

Give LTP a call and they could also offer some advice you can contact them on www.ltp-online.co.uk

I have still not had a reply from ltp-online and have sent up follow up emails. I have had contact with tile magic from whom I bought the tiles from and there service has been first class. They recommend I use a steam cleaner but I'm not so sure and if anybody has an opinion on this it would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

I got in contact with them earlier and they reckon the power stripper should do the trick. I'll try in an area where nobody will see first just in case this doesn't work. I'll let you all know how I get on with the various solutions I have had on here.

    Cheers
