    Default Keraflex on plywood

    Hi,
I have bought Mapei Keraflex to lay slate tiles on a plywood base. Will I need to prime the plywood before using the Keraflex and if so which primer should I use? Some say I will need to use Primer S but others say that there is no need to with Keraflex.

    Thanks

No need to prime according to Mapei. What thickness is the ply and is it WBP ply ?

    Thanks for the quick reply.

The ply is 10mm thick. I am not sure if it's WBP as it was fixed by Wickes as part of my kitchen installation. It is well screwed down though as i have read that warping can be a problem.

15mm is BS, It wont be 10mm anyway, 9mm is normal size but too thin IMO.

id definately overboard with the 6mm backerboard. leave a 2mm joint around the perimeter of each board and fill with silicone. personally nowdays, its russian roulette tiling onto some of the cheap imported plywoods that are out there..

I did want to do it myself, but I'm thinking twice about it now.
