    Default Mosaic trouble

    Hi guys,

ah well as you can guess i have a spot of bother with my mosaic tiles. They are the small ones on a plastic backing sheet. I am only trying to do a splashback and a shelf in my downstairs toilet but i am having a nightmare. How on earth do you guys get the mosaics on the wall and get them to stay where you want them. My mosaics are slipping down the wall and even though i have tried spacers and even small nails it looks crap. Some gaps are so small between the mosaics that you cant even get a spacer between them. I am using mosaic fix which topps tiles gave me and i think it is the right adhesive just a nightmare to get the tiles to stay in the right place. I have a baton at the bottom of the mosaics across the wall as well. HELP.

It takes a brave DIY'er to tackle mosaics, as you have found they are very difficult and fiddly!

I am using a 4mm round notched sreader. I did push them on with a flat plasterers trowel and that was quite good just the tiles slipping. My new idea is panel pins at the top of the sheet holding them in place so that they don't slip. My adhesive seemed fine. well to me it did it was fairly firm and at first i thought it may be too dry but obviously not.
