Dural matt and expansion advice note.

Hi all,We have recently layed something like 160m2 of dural matting,Whilst undoing one of the many rolls we noticed an advice note explaining the need to still lay expansion joints,as we all know,at the end of the advice note it explains that silicone should never used for an expansion joint,
Any one know why?

Because Dural sell expansion joints..
