Discuss Removing BAL fastflex from tools in the Tiling Forum at TilersForums; Hi. Have been tiling outside over the last week with fastflex...I now have hardened fastflex on some of my tools...anyone know anything I can soak them in to easily remove ...

    Default Removing BAL fastflex from tools

    Hi.

    Have been tiling outside over the last week with fastflex...I now have hardened fastflex on some of my tools...anyone know anything I can soak them in to easily remove adhesive?

    Nightmare must be some chemical that losens the adhesive...I know when I used 2 part flexible for the first time the only thing that would get it off my hands was petrol! maybe I should try that...

    The sun caught me out a few times last week! had to throw a few buckets away

    I use one of these to clean my mixing paddles. Works a treat.

    soaking them won't be any good Simon, for a quick clean I sometimes take my angle grinder to them

    If you do forget to clean tools down a good scrape as has been said, also the grinder approach works a treat lol otherwise lay the trowel flat on a concrete or other solid base and chip off with a bucket trowel.

    find a pile of gravel a rub your trowel on it like a duracel bunny with new batteries

    if that dont work get the grinder out.
