Question Travertine sealing/grouting

Hi guys,

I need a bit of your pro help here.

How long after you have sealed your travertine tile (12mm thick) can you grout and just how many times should i apply the sealant before grouting. I have read seal it twice leaving 30 - 45 mins in between aplication but have been told just once and then twice one grouted.

BTW.....many thenks for your help on the forum my bathroom is looking fantastic.

hi there, lay your travertine at the weekend, when its dry give it a coat of sealer, leave it for an hour then grout 2 mts at a time so that you can clean off as you go, when its grouted change the water in the old washboy and give one final cleanoff, allow to dry completely (i mean the grout) then give it another seal,
use a fast setting grout, laid tonnes of this stuff on commercial installations, never had a problem.
ps dont leave any voids under the travertine, they are as strong as a biscuit in a cup of tea
