Do you need to use any specific tiles for around a old farmhouse aga?

Not really no.. not a massive amount of heat from them..

No, just make sure th Aga has been off for a few days, and use flexible adhesive.

No.
As ceramic tiles are fired to such a temperature the are fine!
However make sure your adhesive is a flexible type for the movement with temperature and leave a gap from the AGA to the tiles so there is no conductive heat.
A lot of glazes will craze with time/heat and this is a inherrant feature of ceramics.
There are a few tile types that will not be suitable ie Space tiles from Fired Earth without using an epoxy adhesive.
Make sure its off for a day before you start! And leave off for at least another day to set.

I'am sure there are a few others

The only reason I mention Space tiles - is through experience - they all fell off - as clean as a whistle - and had to refix them with epoxy adhesive.
Thing is they looked just as good the second time!
