Anyone used Durabase crack suppresion system?
Hi,
Gonna tile two 3mt bathroom floors ,both downstairs this week. The floor is chipboard, but feels really solid, anyway I normally ply em out, but am thinking I could use 6mm hardibacker boards or ive seen in Topps this Durabase crack suppression system.
It will probably cost a bit more, but looks a whole lot easier, no sawing or screwing down etc.It looks quite good.
Has anyone used this before?, if so could you give an honest opinion please.
Cheers.
Vin.

Chipboard, ground floor, are you sure this is not a floating floor?

Re: Anyone used Durabase crack suppresion system?
Thats got me right confused now..dont know if its floating floor, customers has it all carpeted and grippers round the perimeter, managed to pull a bit back, and it seems real solid, but its chipboard all right.
The Topps Durabase brochure dont mention if its Ci or whatever, it just says its Decoupling and sealing mats for use under floor.
I wont bother with it if I ply it,cant see the point, was gonna use that instead of plying, now am not sure what to use.
Help!
Cheers.
