Is this tile porcelain ?
Hi
I'm wanting to do a job for a friend but I'm not 100% sure if this tile is porcelain as I have not delt with any tiles like it before.
I'm thinking it is glazed porcelain or something like ? These size is 500 x 500 x 8 and has a ruff lined surface.
The back has these marks : Gres Porcellanato, P, 4 in a circal, 09, T, 1 in a circal. The make is DAM ceramica, made in Italy.
These picks show the markings, that's if they load up :

Re: Is this tile porcelain ?
Gres Porcellanto is basically a glazed Porcelain tile. Its not a full bodied porcelain tile but its like 90% of porcelain tiles sold. Nvertheless, best to use at least a one-part flexible adhesive to lay. Bonds much better than a standard adhesive.

Re: Is this tile porcelain ?
Many thanks. I was scratching my head over this one so thanks for your advise. This tile is also the largest I have come across so far , would using a 10 mm trowel be too little for this type and size of tile ?

Re: Is this tile porcelain ?
Back skim the tile, use the 10mm and check to see how much coverage your getting, if your not getting the coverage then use a 12mm.
