Spacer Size For Large Tiles

Hi all

What's the best spacer/gap size for large ceramic travertine effect wall tiles 300 x 450mm and floor 300 x 300mm, or is it persnal preferance I was going to go with 2mm.....???

British standards state a min of 3mm floor and 2mm wall (correct me if I'm wrong)

It is personal preference but I would go 3mm floor and 2mm wall

yeh depends but 2 mm on walls and 3 mm on floors 2 mm on floors as well i use really your preference

2mm for me as well, although I have just been to a job this morning where they used about 8mm..............a full rip out will commence next week.

Go with the 2mm / 3mm options. Anything bigger looks nasty in my opinion

Grout joint size is a personal preference and BS min sizes recommendations are there for a reason. IMO joints of the same size can look different on tiles of the same size depending on the tile style and pattern. Lay out a few dry with different joint sizes and see which please your eye most.

as above its preference,i prefer 2mm on concrete or suitable substrates but on square edged tiles 3mm can still look good and neat
