    Default travelling costs

    Hi everybody , when pricing jobs up do you add fuel costs to the price as i have got a job that is 100 mile round trip defo 2 trips maybe 3.

    if it's a job in glasgow pass it this way..........lol

    seriously though yes if i'm travelling that distance i always put in fuel costs and add a few hrs day rate to cover travelling if need be. i've had a few jobs in dumfries and have always stated to customers that costs will be added and they were fine but they were recommendations
    alcohol-the cause and solution to all of lifes problems

    Not just fuel costs but time travelling as well (not like Doctor Who though)

    I rarely take jobs over an hours drive as thats 2hrs each day and at teh end of the week they could have had someone closer there for an extra day. (Well thats my get out excuse i give them)

    There are a lot of factors that should determine this issue.
    In an ideal world you charge.
    If its a large meterage you could lose it.
    If it's a recommendation you charge.
    With competition you could lose it.
    Etc.

    defo charge travel time pal. im starting a job in liverpool and stated to the contractor i wanted travel expenses.

    There are agreed rates for traveling, so much per mile etc. Also lodging expences. Good luck

    never been that lucky but only travel on large jobs it would be a price inc sundray materials if someone wanted me to tile a bathroom and it was a 100 miles away they would get charged for my time traveling :Pete
