Default Gaining Speed

Hi been on a tiling course and just started working part time with a tiler.i can tile well but this guy im working with is rapid im still using spacers while he seems to be throwing the tiles on.any tips to improve my speed?been thinking of ply boarding half my garage out and buying some training adhesive and practising any ideas or tips lads?

Any practise you can get will help..but speed will come with experience..so be patient you will get there as long as you are doing a good job then don't worry...........dave..

do you use spacers or do you just tend to place the tile on the wall and not bother? how long did it take you to get with the pace

i always use spacers with wall tiling,that way you get uniform joints...cant remember how long it took me, that long ago now lol lol.....you will get there , no rush mate........dave..

The bit that takes the time to learn is the application of adhesives,to either walls or floors...(your action with adhesive float)...it takes time to get the right feel for the amounts less or more adhesive to straighten or compensate for bumpy surfaces...With time and practice it will become more and more instinctive....Gaz

Absolutely mate...more practice the better...try in garage to set up different ways...diagonal set ,,brick set herringbone etc.....Gaz

Any practise is a good thing but as I've already mentioned speed will only come as you get more experienced, each person learns at different rates so there is no time scale....dave..
