    Default Flu like symtoms

    Hi All,
Suddenly last night the customer has came over with flu like symtoms. She had mentioned during the day strong smell as i was painting on the tanking (Ultra WaterShield) and she was wondering whether it has anything to do with it. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Had a customer who wanted silicone changed in her bathroom to a solvent free silicone as it was causing her problems.

As long as your not painting it on her, you should be OK.

Hi M8. Honestly I'm not sure, but maybe she's just a sensitive person anyway?

Gloss paint has a funny effect on me, even if painting outdoors. But that is more of a clammy sort of headache, not flu like.

I had a summer cold about weeks ago. 2pm on the Saturday afternoon I felt great and by 3pm I was really feeling ill. I suspect that's all it is cos it can hit you really quick.

I'm still not completely over it

Maybe she is coming down with something anyway, but I just meant SHE might be sensitive to the smell, not that its harmful to her.

So far as I know, tanking doesn't have a high VOC content like gloss/varnish, but it does have a bit of a funny/pongy smell, like matt emulsion etc.

Best advice I would give is to leave the house for a while if SHE is sensitive to the smell? Then get all the windows open once you painted, to help drying out. 2nd coat tomorrow is it?

EDIT : Then again, who would make the tea???!!! Nice weather here tomorrow, you could advise a trip to the shops for more biscuits if the 2nd coat goes on tomorrow?
