Dave, this week we will finish all the framing repairs in the old house in Wash DC that I told you guys about in another post. No AC in the building, so we'll be sweating and wishing for fall to come.

My sparky and plumber will be there, getting in our way and asking me to "come here for a minute will you Rob?" about every 10 minutes.

Mark, what do you do or add to make the render damproof? We have stuff here in the US called "anti hydro", and it's made to go into mud to help increase the resistance to water intrusion (probably reduces the porosity). Are you using the same kind of stuff ?

Probably similar Rob, sika product added to the render which they reccomend to be a 2.5-3 sand to 1 cement.

The sand is bagged and a good well graded and a good quality fine sharp

There is another product called Soverign Renderlight, which is pre bagged and is a cement based plaster with all the usual additives to stop any salts but can add to the cost.
