    Default tiling on to a mirror

    can you do it?

    any one ever done it?

    if so what adhesive did you use.

    The mirror will not be solid bedded.. So a NO from me.

    I can't see it holding the weight.

    Are we talking two different issues here? Mirrors get mosaiced on all the time, very common, and the clear silicone glues for glass are specially designed for it...

    the mirrors stuck on the wall, its 600x300 and will be tiling with 6x6 cheapy whites

    i could smash it out but its the mess it makes (and the 7 years bad luck) so i was just thinking tiling over may have been an option.

    Are we talking two different issues here? Mirrors get mosaiced on all the time, very common, and the clear silicone glues for glass are specially designed for it...

    Andy.. what do you mean by tiling on it..

    Is this in a room or just as a single piece..design.?

    7 years is only if you break it in 3 pieces isnt it? Just hit it REALLY hard to make sure it smashes into smithereens!

    Whats is stuck up with? Couldnt you prise it off?

    the mirror is set in the wall in an alcove so they must have fitted the mirror and then plastered round it, the guys just moved in and wants the bathroom re tiled so its smash the mirror out patch and tile or tile over it.

    this is a non issue, smash the mirror, plasterbaord dot and dabbed to the wall behind (if required) and tile?

    or am i on my own?
