    We all want one.

It's a steal at just £1499.99 plus VAT (soon going up to 20% - yippee), and the diamond band saw blade is extra, but a steal at just £159.99 per blade.

Blade is guaranteed to cut at least 3 metres of mosaics before it needs replacing..... Oh to be a cynic. Hee hee.

Dave, that's the one that my buddy in New York recommended to me. He says it is triple-sweet. I ordered one and am waiting for a job to use it on---should be soon!

This one might give you a bit more of an idea about using the hammer and hardie, I recorded it about a year ago in my kitchen!

I LOVE this, Lawrence!! And I'd forgotten all about marble.... wow, I have tried hammer and hardie at Gary Drostle's place with smalti, but this explanation is fantastic, good teaching, and you can tell the practice, beautifully executed! Brilliant, thank you!! Nice arms, too

Thanks, I’m pleased it was interesting to watch.
It is a block of oak the hardie is set into as this takes the vibration best. For mosaic work they’re about the most pricey bit of kit, I do mine for £125.00 with the block or £95.00 without. Saying that though, you won’t ever have to replace the set through wear.
Most of the people I’ve supplied say it takes about 1 -2 weeks to get comfortable with.
These are the tools I’ve been using to cut 300mm x 300mm x 10mm tiles down to 8 -12mm tesserae and because it’s the weight of the hammer doing the cutting you can cut for about 3 -4 hours at a time (one 300mm tile takes about 40 minutes).
