    Default Grouting Help!

    Hi guys

Ive posted a few things recently regarding tiling my bathroom floor! Ive tiled it and grouted today but im not happy with my grouting i have done! Its not smooth everywhere and wanted some advice please! Is it as simple as sanding down the grout a bit to make it smooth or is it back to the drawing board and re-grouting?? Please help!!

    Thanks

sounds like back to drawing board , the sooner you remove the grout the easier it will be, did you wash of with a hand sponge , or did you use a wash boy, you need good quality sponges

As above, a good floor grout and a good wash-boy, good timing you should have no probs

as above don't think it will be possible to smooth down without re-grouting

It was a unibond waterproof one that was already made up!! i used a float and have got a tiling sponge from BQ but one question i have is once ive put the grout into the gap do you just wipe over the tile with the sponge or slide sponge close to edge of tile to remove excess grout?? Also i think i have room to grout slightly over grout thats down now so would that be ok to do or would it just crumb away once dry??

Ps is it hard to remove grout once its down??

    Sorry for all the questions

Mazza, Ready mixed grout is not ideal better using a good powder eg. Mapei or the like. Better to rake out and start again imo. If you follow the instructions you should get a better result, try a small area first, and experiment with timing good luck.
