    Default Old Pilkington tiles needed

Can anyone suggest where I can get some discontinued Pilkington's tiles?
We tiled our bathroom about 12 years ago with 25mmx20mm Pilkington tiles, printed on the back with CAV5. They are marbled/veined and in terracotta.

We are now thinking about replacing our bath with a shower and need a dozen or so more tiles to avoid having to change the tiles completely - a big job!

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Hi al1950

At 12 years old, you would struggle to find any supplier that will have any stock. Maybe worth trying to contact the manufacturer to see when they were last made? The best you can hope for is that someone stashed a box somewhere and forgot all about them.

Have you tried eBay yet? not sure if it will be any use, but you never know

    Good luck in your searching

I can paint that picture now - textured vein tiles
It would be cheaper to retile with B&Q then go to the effort of patching TV tiles.

We have 2 colours - a very light grey (almost white) and terracotta. It's the latter that we need. Pilkington's told me a few months ago that terracotta are now discontinued but I'm pretty sure I saw the grey/white ones on their web site about a year ago. If you find them, please let me know. Cheers.

Did you have any joy finding these tiles? I'm also after a replacement for the exact same one and would be interested to know if you sourced one.

No, we didn't. We had no choice other than to take the nuclear option and rip all the old tiles off and start again. Pity, as they are/were nice tiles. Maybe the next correspondent's suggestion will help you.

I found out that the CAV5 code on the back of the tile isn't the design number, so we may not have been looking for the same tiles anyway. the ones I was after were a cream colour with a terracotta coloured vein/marbled effect. I've found something similar in Topps Tiles in the 'Anjelik' range. Since I only need to replace one tile in a corner of my shower cubicle, I've gone and bought one for the grand sum of 55p.

There still can be nice tiles if you clean some up and sell them on www.tilesinyourgarage.co.uk Please don't say you've skipped them :-(
