Post Advice tiling with schluter ditra

Hi guys, just need some advice. Im taking up a suspended floor already tiled with schluter matting. Is it possible to retile onto the matting or will i have to pull that up aswell? Might seem like a stupid question but as i said, aint worked with schluter before. Cheers

It depends on the damage caused... if you break the tiles in small pieces, you will have a fighting chance of saving it.. but not a guarantee that it will...

As Dave, if tiles are fixed well. You will be lucky not to damage the mat, last one I tried the mat parted (ripped apart) top face stuck to tile base, bottom to screed good luck

Will do dave. Caught a post you gave on dura ci and have looked into that a little. From what i've seen it sounds just as good as schluter but at a much friendlier cost so i may give that a go if i have to rip up the old matting. Is there anything i should be aware of when using this as a replacement to ditra?

Not really apart from it can curl a bit at the edges due to the attached nylon string..

But it uncouples just the same..

By the sounds of it, you will not lose any time by ripping the whole lot up and starting again, and I'm with Dave on the curling issue, I've found exactly the same with the CI. Happy tiling

Yeah it would probably be quicker to rip it all up than try n lift the tiles up without damaging the matting. Nice1 guys. I shall keep you posted and hopefully pics too!
