shower trays
just been to pick some keys up for a job im doing tomorrow.
there plumbers been in today to fit the shower tray and take out the toilet and basin, its a corner tray and on the two corners that go up against the wall theres a lip of about 20mm so the tile goes over the lip to prevent any chance of water getting behind the tray.
problem is the plumbers left the lip flush with the wall, and where the wall isnt sqare in places it sticks out 20mm, i always thought the lip was chased into the wall and the tiles come down flush ?

Re: shower trays
Is it a Mira Flight tray?
I think the lips are rubbish, designed to put a 9.5mm board over the existing wall to cover it. I have seen these fail with water getting over the lip by way of capillary

Re: shower trays
yeah, never needed to use the lipped trays if fitted properly

Re: shower trays
And if you cut the lip the warranty is void !
i had one before where the muppet left it out too and then argued with me about its position in front of the customer.
I laughed and said ok i'll tilt the bottom row of tile out then.I did so he had serious fun fitting shower doors, lol. And i was well gone.
