Default Ceramic toilet.

Ok ok i know this is not your area but i have a problem.......

I bought this toilet a few months back, nice but expensive.

I have come to fit it but have realised that the toilet base (ceramic) fits flush to the wall.

My toilet waste bends 90 deg. to the left on the toilet i have now but on the new toilet i cant do this as the base fits flush to the wall.

I cant send the waste through the wall behind or i would be in the hallway.

If you follow so far here is my How too question....

Can i cut the ceramic toilet base with, say, an angle ginder with diamond disc or am i just askin for trouble

Thanks for any ideas....if i am able i can post photos.

Again i know this is not your area but thanks for your input.

You can not cut the toilet at all. the only thing is to put a box round the pipes and have the toilet off the wall. you could make a large box to the top of the cisten and tile it you will find this will have things put on it candels, soap ect or put the toilet on ebay(sell it) and buy the right one this time

Nothing is imposable it just costs more

Thanks for that...just one small problem....even if i bring the toilet 20mm forward the door wont open.... i have 1 of those seperate toilets vv small.

I have tried to return the toilet but its after the 30 day return period.

The only thing i can think of is to go down and out as the joists run in the right direction dot its still very tight with the ceramic.

Thanks

Get hold of a plumber mate to check the waste runout and give you options for moving to accomodate new toilet but think you should take the hit and buy another toilet from the same shop and try and sweet talk some if not all of your money and emphasise it has not been trial fitted.Time to exercise the silver tongue!!

I have actually cut a pan before to fit around an awkward soil pipe. The pan was designed to fit a soil pipe from below or behind, it had "sides" which prevented a connection to a pipe from the side. But the soil pipe was at the side and it had to be fitted so I cut one side piece away, very carefully obviously, with a mini grinder and diamond blade. Measured really carefully and cut a little bit at a time until it fitted very neatly around the pipe. Obviously if the cut went through into the water chambers you would be buggered. If you cant exchange the pan then what have you got to lose.
I've also had to cut a pedestal before when the basin has been such a poor fit on it that it just wont sit right.
With a little care these things can be done.
