very nice job mike![]()

It looks a nice job but im not sure what is going on in the shower floor and the raking cut looks bad

Hi Mike, what was the reason for the closure tiles? Could you not have lined the grout lines up? It all looks so good until the shower area and the small tapering cuts to the wall.

the customer wanted the closure tiles to distinguish the shower area and unfortunately it was unavoidable to not have the small tiles due to the shape of the room, all corners miles out of 90 degrees. had i moved along you would have seen the room was out with both the bath panel and the units. the customer was made up with it and i had a 50 quid tip![]()

Nice looking job, well done![]()

if you say so

no need to be like that mate, it was a really awkward floor to plan out due to different length walls and corners not being 90 degrees. as an experienced tiler you should know that sometimes awkward/small cuts are inevitable. If that's what you call constructive criticism don't bother!

sorry m8 i was in a bad mood. you was the man on the job and you set out to suit the room the best way in your view.![]()

think i would have laid the floor brick bond to disquise the fact the room was not square ,(would never be able to tell, wouldnt be everyones taste and the customer is always right in their decisions.) But at the end of the day sometimes we have to adapt to the conditions. Ive done quite a few wet areas with the preformed shower bases sunk into the floor and to put a normal tile onto them is virtually impossible without it looking like a patch work quilt. I tend to put mosaics into them and i think it looks spot on.
Walls look fab
but could the main floor area not have shuffeled down a few inches to eliminate the small cuts / grout line under the rad. then the grout line in the shower would have lined up with the main floor and it would not be so obvious that the wall was so far out of square

nice job but the shower?? what happened![]()

Come on guys, as Dean has already said Mike was the tiler on the job and he has set it out as he sees fit.
Im sure he has posted the pics for all to see and not for critisism that has been given. Just take a step back and think how you would feel about the critisism if it was your work?

I meant NO offence with my observation, there was obviously a reason for the set out, my comment i thought was designed for Mike to say why it couldn't be shuffled down.
The customer is happy and that is what matters

thanks for all the comments lads. the customer didn't want brick bond on the floor as it would have looked too much(as the walls are obviously brick bond too) she also wanted the shower area to not be in line with the rest of the room as to define the area. as i said previously it was unavoidable to have angled cuts and was hard to plan out due to all the factors involved, i.e.bathroom out of square and wet room out of square. also i had the minimum fall possible to the centre of the drain, about 12mm from the outer edge to the centre. thanks again guys, and i can take the constructive criticism, i don't claim to be the best tiler but i give my 100% and i often come on here for advice![]()
