Borders- tile or mosaic in shower en-suite
After removing some very badly fitted tiles (housebuilder) that had a relief border tile running straight throught the concealed shower valve wall plate and now wanting to prep a top job I am now in a dilimma about tile options. The shower cubicle will be fully tiled but outside it is half tiled. If I ran a new relief border tile around the room extending it into and around the cubicle I would have the same valve problem as before. One otion that i would like advice on is to substitute a border tile with polished marble mosaic blocks as the top row of the half tile and therefore providing a level run through the concealed shower valve wall plate (Aqualisa concealed 609). I have not seen any marble mosaics done as a top border to the half tiled section. Does this work? Any recomendations on terminating the top edge of the marble mosaic? What are other options.

Re: Borders- tile or mosaic in shower en-suite
Hi, I have just done this yesterday , ceramic tile with slate mossiac border in the middle of shower cubicle, and then this ran through to be the top of a half tiled splash back above a bath, on this job the customer wanted the top of the slate mossiac finished with a White trim, if it was my choice I wouldn't use a trim on stone or if I had to it would be chrome, I will post some pics after work today so u can see the border change from middle to top, the mossiacs don't need to be where your valve is it can go anywhere, what ever works out best

you can see the border change to be the top of the splashback, white trim used here, but on nice stone border i would either use no trim, or a nice chrome one,
if u cant see them you will have to go to another post i did and they are on there, post is b & q tiles approx sizes a joke
