    Default Need help with doorway/hallway

    Hi all
Looking at a project for home Will be looking at tiling main hallway/entrance. Roughly u shaped area with five doors coming off and a staircase !! Will probably look at using 450 cm tiles. As none of the doors line up I will probably center the bottom of the U which has the main living room door and kitchen either end. Would this be a reasonable position to start from ?? Also when tiling to doorways what is best, stop short of architrave & grout gap or cut under architrave & then silicone ?

Without actually seeing a floor plan it is not easy to advise on the lay out.

But the neatest option on the architraves is to undercut.. i use a fein machine.

As dave has said with out a plan cant advise but as you have so many things to consider in this then it would pay for you to lay afew out dry to see how it works and to see which is the most pleasing on the eye

all the money you are going to spend on tiles addy etc and have old architrave / skirting , renew them for what they will cost unless they are 12" oak skirts and 4" oak architraves of course
