Default School showers

Morning chaps.
Have been asked to price a re-tile in a small primary school. They want their swimming pool shower area re-done. I'm going to look tomorrow but wondered whether there was anything out of the ordinary to look out for where the area to be tiled is for "public" access ie lots of noisy kids! For example does it need expoxy grout? Are there particular Health and Safety issues to be considered?
Any help/advice gratefully recieved.
Have a good week.
Jim

Iv'e tiled a School wet area, took ages to get paid, (over 2 months) Local authorities hang onto the money as long as they can. They do pay but don't do it if you have a cash flow problem and want money in a hurry.

Thanks for your advice. In this case I'm being "subbed" by a local building firm so I hope any hitches may go their way not mine!
Did you need to consider anything differently because of the job?
Thanks again.

I don't know if your'e registered for VAT but schools claim it back. If your'e not it might be best to let them buy in their name all the materials. That way they get the invoices for mats and can claim it back. Unfortunately you lose out a bit on anything you might have made due to your Trade discount, but you can always try upping the price a little to cover it, depends how you feel and how big the job is. As to tiling, No different to other tiling for a wet area.

ask the builder if there is a specification for the job, as most local authority work is put out to tenders by building management companys, they will usually have a tile and recommended fixing and grouting method already chosen, if they dont mention epoxy by name then bal microflex grout is fine
