Grout or Silicone first

After readign the recomendations on here I am going to silicone the corners of my bathroom rather than grout, however in what order do I do things ? I will obviously grout the horizontal gaps between tiles, but do :
1) Grout horizontal first up to the corner and when the grout is dry silicone the vertical corner.
2) Or do I Silicone first and then grout the horizontal gaps up to the silicone

I would have thought option 1 to give the best seal, but woudl appreciate yoru advice.

grout all first Skid, apart from corners and where tiles meet potware. Then silicone the next day when all is dry

Option 1

Grout everything first bar your corners. And then silicone the corners once the grout is dry.

Have you tiled around a bath or shower tray?

Hi, I grout everywhere first, leaving above bath/ showertray, where tile meets ceiling and where tile meets floor , then come back next day polish everywhere then fill the grout lines I left with a good quality silicone,

I havent finished the last tile to the bath, I have siliconed the Hardibacker baord (wall material) to the edge of the bath (again as recomended on here) and will fix last tiles this weekend, then grout and silicone, proablby the following weekend (this only working weekends at least gives things a chance to dry)

where the gap between tiles and ceiling is, I use a painters caulk rather than silicone, this allows the painter to make a neat job of cutting in

as per doug and GGR making sure that first as doug says leave the grout for a day to dry and secondly you may find that no matter how careful you are you will get grout in the vertical line in the corner....dont worry about this wipe away as much as poss while washing grout off the tiles, then usuing a fine blade i.e stanley knife remove the grout from the corners.

I know what your saying doug, but I have found caulkto sometimes crack, especially on new builds and extentions, and the ceiling should always be painted first IMO

A good quality chaulk such as dulux's flexible should not crack or shrink.

It will almost always crack on anything new build because of the shrinkage, most caulks should be flexible enough to cope with the movement in normal cases.

Thanks for all your advice, its not a new build and the ceiling was painted prior to tiling
