    Talking help

hello, i am currently trying to get in to tiling but am not sure where to start. i have been looking at doing a course which costs £1000 but am not sure if this will actually give me the knowledge to go straight out and work. i would rather be someones labourer for a while and learn the hands on way. i will be getting a cscs card soon and was wondering if there is any tilers that would be willing to take me under there wing and show me how to tile. i just need a new career to make life better for myself and my family so am willing to learn.

i would go and see the course in progress before you lay down any cash and find out what you will learn, maybe go on the last day and see other peoples attitude to what they have learned!

you might find it hard to get someone to take you on without any experience with the way work can be in certain areas at the moment but good luck anyway

im not sure but there used to be government schemes were if some one took you on as a apprentice the government paid them, there was somet on telly about the other day. phone some tile fixers up in your area you have nothing to loose. i remember when i got my first start on my own a firm in doncaster sdt tiling all new build housing, they had a large wall in back of warehouse with a bath fixed to it a sink and a window , you were given 6x6 white tiles and told to tile it ,&trim it all up ,very nerve racking but i did it & got the job . ive gone on a bit sorry , and good luck
