who,s tiles do you like to work with most if you had the choice

ceramic and porc? (as opposed to natural stone) I'd say Porselanosa imo

Porselanosa all the way![]()

Is there a connection between C.T.D, gemini and porcelanosa. They seem to tie in some how

CTD is Gemini range.. and they buy in porcelenosa.. they did stop when porcelanosa tried to go it alone but have reverted back to CTD stocking a small range.

Porcelanosa - every time 100% for fine glazed Porcelain and some mosaics. Stone is different.

porcelanosa for me all day...i like them so much, i bought the company, well, i have a link on my home page lol
my dad used to love pilks, and he thought spanish tiles were k-rap, but that was the late 70's and things have improved now.
turkish 6 x 6 whites from b&q are another favorite of my lol....

Porcelanosa for me too.
Spanish and Italian tiles always seem to be the nicest to work with.

porcelanos for me too. i do like v+b too but been having a few issues with them lately!

Imola also do some nice tiles

Ceramiche 200 x200 bumpy white from topps.....NOT!
Only had Porcelanosa a few times but they were nice. My dad loved the self spacing cristal years ago as that was all he was doing on new build at the time.

The thing I like about porcelenosa is all the stone and terracotta are pre sealed. And the ceramics are very good for size.

I'am in heaven - just picked up a 63sq mt polished travertine job tonight - and yes the tiles are from Porcelanosa.
Lots of preparation to do but wont be able to start tiling till tiles arrive - 8weeks!
mattyg - in 1980 CTD were 3 independent distributors in Glasgow,Newcastle and Bradford, importing amongst others Porcelanosa.
Newcastle bought Glasgow and expanded throughout the north with a range of tiles under the banner of Gemini. Porcelanosa arrived in the UK with showrooms accross the country but not in the north. CTD sold out to StGobain who dropped Porcelanosa as they were competition and Porcelanosa opened showrooms in the north. CTD have - as Dave replied- started to stock a limited exclusive range of Porcelanosa.

the last time I used V and B I had a real battle with them, I was doing 8 apartments (starting price £450,000!) and even my TX700 struggled to snap them straight, they were like iron. The site agent even got the V and B technical fella out to asses the problem and see if there was anything I wasn't doing right to cut them. I showed him and he took me to one side and said "they are the toughest tiles on the market, you're doing nothing wrong, but you need to cut two tiles to hopefully get a straight one"This was the "Fire and Ice" range iirc. I got a 22mm cutting wheel from TT and that helped a lot and cut down on the wastage.

Yeah, I think Porcelanosa has to be up there
Fixing a lot of their stuff on a big job at the moment - absolutely perfect.

I guess we like them principally as most of the medium / high end of their Porcelain Tiles including the Stonker Range (seriously hard !) are all rectified after firing and hence they are absolutely spot on for size.
