Porcelain tile advice
Hi there,
I've tiled plenty of bathrooms in ceramic but never used porcelain tiles before, all I really know about them is they are very difficult to work with.
The tiles are 44cms x 44cms are glazed and are wall tiles. I have about a month untill this job starts but I want to be prepared.
I have a cheap Plasplugs diamond wet wheel cutter, will this be enough?
What are the best cutters and drills?
What is the best adhesive?
Do I need primer?
All tiling will be on plasterboard and aquapanel.
Cheers

Re: Porcelain tile advice
you will need to make sure they don't exceed the weight limit for plasterboard-32kg/m2 including adhesive and grout, your plasplugs cutter will probably slow you down a bit but as long as it's the master version should be ok!
are you sure these tiles aren't polished

Re: Porcelain tile advice
As David, check weight issues. Porcelain tends to be polished rather than glazed (not always) and yes, sbr. primer. Also cement based adhesive
flexible ( polymer enhanced).

Re: Porcelain tile advice
Welcome Bob
I have the Plasplugs contract pro and that cuts ok, but can be slow depending on how hard they are.
I dry cutter will cut them too, what dry cutter do you have?

Re: Porcelain tile advice
welcome to the forum Bob, might be worth hiring a dry cutter or stick with the plasplugs, but it will be slow going
the 365 drills are worth it by the way
