Default Customer has changed her mind!!!

Hi all, Nearly completed a bathroom job floor-to-ceiling brick-bond 450x300 ceramics just the final cuts that butt up to the ceiling to left before grouting and sealing. It's a plain tile all over except for one row of patterned all around at about chest height. The problem is my customer has just decided she does not like the paterned row and has asked if they can be removed and changed!!!!

Can these be removed without jeopardising the strength/bond of the adhesive on the surrounding tiles? How can I gaurantee this?... Can I gaurantee this?

Is it a wise thing to do at this stage of the job?

    Any advice please?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes they are the same size which is one good thing. I'm just concerned that if they don't come off to easy and I need to go at them with a bit of force that it might cause damage to the bond/adhesion of surrounding tiles. The adhesive is tubbed bal green star.

I would run your options with the customer pointing out

    1) The extra time involved.
    2) The risks.
    3) The costs.

By sharing the information with them at least they can have an informed choice. And if the worst happens then you wont foot the bill

if the are the same size as the field tile as mike has said then yes in theory you can remove them and replace with the smooth ones....but obviosly(dont think i spelt that right) you will have to be careful as to not to damage the substrate. if they have not been on too long removing them should not be too hard. just try to remove as much of the tile in one go from the centre of the tile so as not to chip tiles above and below. depending on how they come of (how much adhesive is left on the wall) i tend to remove most of it with a harris long handled scraper and sand the last flat using my bosch pmf multi tool.
    hope this helps
    chris

As mentioned a powdered adhesive would have been better for that size tile
