    Default A little advice please!

Hi Guy's, Just looking for a little advice getting a nice smooth finished edge usimng a wet saw. as im new to tiling. I completed a tiling coure at north east tiling training back in November & am just doing my 1st little tiling job. On the cousre we used a little wet saw to do a plunge cut round a socket which turned out really good (all edges nice & smooth) My trouble is I purchased a wet saw from B&Q to get me started ) says it cuts ceramic. quarry, slate. granite, porcelain etc up to 20mm think, so though that would be ok for my job as its ceramic im using. Problem is when I tried to cut the plunge cut all the edges splintered. Can anyone help me out here! I don't know if its the quality of the blade on the wet saw but it is a diamond blade. Any advice would be greatly appreciated If anyone could point me in the right direction for the type of machine I should be using or maybe let me know of any quality blades I should be looking out for. I've added a few piccies of the plunge cut I tried so you can see what problem im having, Thanks Alan W.

Did you have enough water in the cutter?

Score the outline of your socket with a dry cutter then do a wet cut from corner to corner diagonally so it looks like an x, then gently tap the waste areas

Hi Mark, yep had plenty of water in the cutter, not sure what blade I used as it was the one supplied with the wet cutter. It was brand new & supposed to be a diamond blade.
