    Default Slate .....

    Hi Guys,

Just finished grouting up my slate wetroom. Im having real problems getting the slate clean enough of the grout haze to put a 2nd coat of sealant on them (1st done before they were laid)
I've checked previou posts on here and am not sure what I can use - the guy at my local tile shop (independent not chain) has recommended HG cement grout film remover but im not sure i can use it on slate... I can if its not calciferous...??... The slate was from mandarin stone and they arent responding to my emails asking the question. Any Ideas?

On another note - I used lithofin slate seal for the 1st coat - is this ok for future coats or do i need something more "waterproof" as its a wetroom? If so will I need to strip back the slate seal or can i go over?

Sorry for all the questions on a Friday night but im just off on holiday until next sat and want to be able to steam straight back in on my return.

    Thanks

    Richard

    Hi Richard..

I have been using this from Aquamix.. good stuff.

Aqua Mix Grout Haze Cleanup - 473ml

Aqua Mix Grout Haze Clean-Up is a safe and effective concentrated cleaner that is added to the grout cleanup water for removal cementitious grout haze and latex additive film from tile during the grout cleanup process.

May also be used full-strength to remove light grout residue within the first 10 days after grouting.

    Uses

Unpolished natural stone (such as granite, limestone, marble, slate, and travertine), polished granite and slate, ceramic, porcelain, quarry, saltillo, terra cotta, cement pavers, masonry surfaces, and other stone and tile surfaces.
