Why do I like tiling
I gave this a lot of thought and as early as junior school, the school was by a stonemasons yard I was fascinated with bits of marble granite ect, I think it was the shiny smooth feel and the coldness even when it was hot out, I was always good at art and crafts at school the only lesson I excelled at, when I left school i ended up in a career as a baker wich I loved working with my hands, I have always been a keen DIYer and this helped when I had started my own bakery as I had a lot of work keeping a home a bakery and a couple of shops looking clean and tidy. Over the years of baking I have made thousands of birthday cakes, wedding cakes ect the only thing was when you stand back and admire the work take a picture the only thing that lasted was the picture as we all know what happened to the cakes. But when you tile stand back admire your work you know that it will probably last till you get sick of the sight and want to change, now that probably made me a keen DIY tiler I was doing it for family and friends and loved it, I have now decided to take this a step further and do a course to brush up on techniques and start out again self employed as a tiler/plumber, I stumbled upon this site just looking around at tiling courses and general tiling stuff, it was a godsend all my questions answered, loads of tech stuff, learned a lot in a short time thanks to you guys, it is good to know there is always someone willing to help and even better to know they are as besotted as I am when it comes to all things tile related, keep up the good work

I think we all have a bit of history!
For me - there is never enough hours in the day - time flies!
That only happens if you are enjoying yourself.

Great post Alby, creating a master piece in any trade. Whether it is a wedding cake or the Sistine chapel, is still a work of art. If we all strive for perfection, It's not a bad thing
