Re: bigest mistake you ever made
tiled a kitchen floor with the wrong tiles once while the customer was on holiday.
she come home and was in tears when she rang me.
however as it turned out it wasnt my fault, i always keep every note, scrape of paper, everythink relating to a job till its finished, so when me and the customer retraced every think back turns out the tile shop write down the wrong codes.
i dont feel its fair to mention the name of the shop, but lets say there not "topps" of that customers xmas card list.

Biggest mistake for me was getting caught urinating outside by the chief Health & Safety officer of a massive shopping centre job. Didn't go down too well.

Re: bigest mistake you ever made
Made me walk to the nearest shop (about a mile away) and buy Domestos to bleach the area or I was off the job. Wouldn't have minded, but I had only been on the job for a few hours.

Re: bigest mistake you ever made
When I was an apprentice my boss and I entered a house, him in the ouse bathand me in the en-suite... Customer came in around 11 and we had fair cracked on apart from we had tiled plot 10 with plot 11's tiles.
Gaffer also chipped a bath taking tiles off, needless to say we were in the boozer for about 1pm that day!
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it!!

Re: bigest mistake you ever made
Gaffer was on holiday but he had sorted all the tiles for the week and left the job sheets in the office.
My first job was in Shrews-bury so off I went. Got to the site found plot 69 and proceeded to tile the bathroom, en-suite 1, en-suite 2, kitchen, utility, and cloak room. Then I went to the site office to get the job sheet signed the site agent said I can not sign this as it is for plot 69 Welsh-pool.

Re: bigest mistake you ever made
Richie - you get my thx for having the best mistake on here - thats just priceless!
Every job I seem to do has a mistake. Worse one to date is when tiling a floor. Prepping at end of a long day I lifted a loose floorboard found 2 radiator pipes wrapped in hessian in middle passing over a joist. Screwed down edges of board, and went to pack up. Customer runs out to tell me water is coming through ceiling below. Returned and lifted floorboard to find plumber had used nailed clips for pipes over joist. One had worked loose, inside hessian (!!) and when I secured florrboard it forced thye nail through the pipe......
I hate screwing down floorboards to prevent flexing.
