silicone is a beter method as those bath seals attract the scum off the soap etc and eventually stinks and they split at the seal point in time as well..........dave..

Hello Jimmy - Ultimate in seals teleseal 10 - get it at b and q.Can be fixed to wall before tiling and after tiling.Has a special flex that moves up to 10 mm if the bath moves.Expensive but works .I fit baths all the time and just add it to the quote.Looks good to as mitred joints are glued white.Kit comes with adhesive and everything you need.Try it.

if you put a seal around a bath - then you have twice as much to silicone i think.

Peg your tiles up with Rubi wedges, about 2mm, silicone likes to have a gap to go into, not just a 90 degree angle, thats the problem with silicone, if you know how it likes to be used, you'll never have problems. Also, if it is a acrylic bath, fill it up with water before siliconing, that way it will move with the eventual weight of water and human.

Hi - I'm a novice tiler and have been reading the debate. Just putting in a shower and not a straight line anywere. Got a massive gap about 2-3 cms between shower tray and wall. Dad told me to bridge gap with grout and then use tile quadrants (plastic seams to be trap for all type of nasties) and a silicon sealant. Where do you get tile quadrants from? Normal DIY shops and Top Tile doesn't do them. Cant find them on internet - links only to forum sites like these. Please help. thanks
