    Default Help! messed up (grout)

Hi all this is my first post,

Im a plumber by trade and decided to lay some ceramic floor tiles in the balcony area of my flat. Did an ok job, the tiles are a beige colour colour with a textured surface.

The problem is I rushed the grouting as I had to pop out and wanted to get it done used an anthracite colour grout and didnt wipe it off the tiles properly so now ive got grout caught in the the textured bits all over the tiles, seems to be very subborn, tired wire wool but that doesnt seem to be doing anything apart from marking the tiles...

Any help on what I could do?? Is there any kind of strong cleaner that I could try that wont mess up the tiles?

    Ta,

    Mark

    Hi ya
1 How bad have you marked the tiles
2 How long did you leave the grout on before you cleaned them of
3 And what was the weather like it can have a affect on the drying of the crout.

    Hi marky!

    1) dont look that badly marked only when you get up close some light marks from the wire wool.
2)Left it approx 2 days but did go over with a damp sponge when I grouted to take off the excess
    3) Its an enclosed balcony so not exposed to outside and i'd say the grout dried at room temp.

I would use Aqua mix phosphoric acid substitute, follow instructions and make sure you give it plenty of dwell time. and after using this i would give it another clean with Aqua mix heavy duty tile & grout cleaner. www.tradetiler.com the forum sponsor can supply you with it..

There are lots of acid based cleaners that should work just be careful with what else the acid might touch, including yourself!
