Default Tile behind or around furniture

Hi a bit of advice please. Refurbishing my bathroom, ripped it all out, new plaster boards ect... going to fit new furniture, which will run length of one wall. vanity unit, toilet unit and storage unit. Should i tile walls before fitting furniture or tile around the units fitting them first, also same question for floor, tile first or tile up to the units. Any suggestions please newbie! Cheers

Does the vanity unit have a back in it ?
It doesnt really matter but if the units have backs in then i would install the carcasses and then tile. Leaving the tops and fronts until last.

out of curiousity would it be easier to tile ' to just behind the units ' ( so you dont waste tiles ) and then fit the units rather than having to cut to the units

Does the unit stand on legs and opened bottomed or does it have a plinth and closed off bottom.?

Tile behind then in years to come if you want to change the unit...you wont be on here looking for discontinued tiles.

I have done it both ways, neither wrong. Although Enduro has a point re: future moves of units.

Lots of variables on this one.

    How thick are the tiles?

Check the distance between the basin and the wall as this can be very narrow in some cases. When tiled it can make it very hard to get a nice silicone finish between tile and basin.

Check your pipe work isnt too close the wall if it comes out of the floor as it can be too close the back of the unit if you tile first.

    Personally I tile first.

You have to cut to the units first.

personally I like to fully tile behind the units, as enduro says, in future if you alter your units you're not having to source tiles again
