    Default tiling over upvc cladding

Can you tile over upvc cladding? Although I say it is clading it is panelling about 12" wide and fits together to give a flat surface with join barely visible. the surface is totally flat and I was hoping to tile over it and not have to rip it all away and fit plasterboard. Please help.

Im with Ed. Its usually better to rip out and start from scratch. The way I think about it is if you ask "can I get away with it" you usually cant

If you mean there may be plasterboard behind it well I thought that too but had a quick look behind a section and none there. Might be lucky and find some behind the other sections

What i actually meant was theres normally a reason for cladding as in it may be hiding something horrid! If its plaster boad or bare plaster then you got a result
