No not ply in a shower, you would need to prime the ply, i would also tell the customer this is not ideal to tile onto and you wont guarantee the tiling onto ply in a wet area.

hi mark.. you can tile with bal flex or fast flex.......bal flex will be easier as it sets slower setting so will allow you plenty time to tile it.....dave.....
marine ply isnt ideal for a shower but better than standard ply...if there is room line out with 6mm backer boards...
BAL Flex Powder & Liquid

A two part, water-resistant and frost-resistant wall tile adhesive, suitable for use in interior and exterior locations. Suitable for fixing ceramic wall tiles and mosaics and dark natural stone. Suitable for use on concrete/brick/block walling, cement:sand rendering, plaster, plasterboard, plywood/chipboard, tile backer boards, glazed tiles/bricks, painted walls, glass reinforced polyester (GRP) backgrounds, steel and galvanised steel. Conforms to BS EN 12004, Type C, Class 1T.
