Default a load of rubbish

hi guys

just wondering what you more experience guys do with your rubbish when you have finished tiling or when you have removed old tiles. do you clear it up & throw it in the customers bin or do you take it to a tip.

Starting a job next week removing old tiles first.

Tony

If you are doing a job and you have to remove waste, by law you have to have a waste carriers licence, very easy to get and around £110.00 for three years. If caught with sign written van with waste in your van can be confiscated so beware.

So far my customers seem to understand that they will be left with it anyway so I leave it with the customer, no ones yet asked why I ain't taking it away with me.

i see it like this...the tiles old and offcuts belong to the customer...i always tell them that they will have to dispose of the waste due to the cost of tipping..they can use the tip for free.

Exactly.

Unless I did a job for some old dear and there wasn't too much and who for whatever reason had no way of anyone else to take them for her, then I might consider taking them with me, but if it was a full bathroom then I'd have to say no, the council will take them for you.

Thanks for your replies guys. It is for a mates Mum, so looks like I'm taking it to the tip then. I don't have a van, so it will look like I've just done my own bathroom I suppose.

Just remember not to turn up to the same tip too many times in the same car, dumping the same sort of waste, as most people only have a certain number of bathrooms at home, lol
