honda showroom in plymouth, 500m2 in the workshop and 200m2 in the showroom, 3 of us went down to do it, and to save money we bought a caravan for £300 and parked on site for 2 weeks when we finished the job we towed it back home and sold it for £400

When we were doing the Aldi, Lidl and Netto stores, we had 10 days to do 1,100m2 all screeded and laid power vibro system. Biggest single floor was 3,500m2 in Dallas Texas. That was sand and cement fixing also.

Sorry Gary, I thought we were talking about one big job. If we are talking about different projects, then in the 80s I had 25 new build sites in and around the Manchester area. Average site 150 houses, average house 25m2. I make that 93,750m2 I wish I had a penny for every tile I have fixed over the years. I could have retired 10yrs ago

Not polishing my buttons Kev, Just stating facts. I would rather see a tiler do a 3m2 splash-back that is perfect, than a 1000,000 m2 of shoddy work

I have just re-read this thread, and I am sorry if I came across as Billy big time. I never intended that, I just got caught up in the passion and pride that I think we all have in our work. I would hate to be seen as a I am the best thing that has ever happened to tiling. I have met so many tilers, who talk a good job.

As I said it is better to do a perfect 3m2 splash-back than a 1000,000 big floor that is rubbish.

Mine was a subway under a dual carrigeway with anti graffiti tiles and we had set of drawings for a 6 coloured pattern, about 240m2.

    Small in comparison but different.

210m2 of 10x200 johnsons white bevel edged tiles in a pavilion the christmas before last, only 2 halogen heaters and 2 halogen lights, water supply on the other side of the grounds, blooming freezing and the only 1 working there, at the same time I was trying to do 2 5 bedroom houses joined together for a builder (approx 100m2), what Christmas I hear you say? Exactly! Finished in early part of 2nd week of January.

helped with a Mercedes floor that was 600m2. I say helped as I laboured, while my colleague tiled. Laid around 80-100m per day, was pretty heavy work on my part I can tell you!

If we are being ridiculous then Ive worked on some massive new build sites....

Biggest floor was a new Topshop/Topman in Belfast which had 2000ish m2 tiling, done in a squad of 7 tilers and a few monkeys. Don't mind the big floors when you get going, but would rather have a bathroom any day. You can't get the same level of pride of of a big floor, and the prices aren't really that appealing any more.

Amazing how quick a big floor can go in, once you get a system going you can be laying a few hundred metres a day.
