Pls Help:Tiling onto plasterboard ?
Hello all,

Sorry if this seems a stupid question but my head's spinning. Please can any kind soul tell me if you can tile straight onto plaster board that has not been skimmed?
It's a for wall tiles covering 45 sq m using 20 x 10 metro tile, 8mm thick.
If so, what is the best product to use on the plasterboard?
Thank you

Yes no problem. i would prime the walls and use a cement based adhesive.

Of course you can tile to unskimmed plaster board. as the tiles are only a smaller tile a good tubbed stuff bal white star maybe or you could use a bagged cement based either would be fine for this job.

No, if you skim the boards they will not be able to hold as much weight...

As above, no problems at all, forget using tubbed adhesive.

Agree Dave, if the 'chap', didn't know about tiling onto plasterboard it doesn't do your confidence much good does it?
