| travertine 12mm hung? DIYer!! | | Hi
My Mrs has gone a got the tiles (ohh i luv them !!!) However Im having serious doubts as to if they can be safely hung. The weight is around 4kg and at 20 kg/m2 im wondering is this will be ok. Ive read the max on a plastered wall is 20 kg/m2.
What kinda of weight am I looking at with 10mm bed per m2?
The walls have a sand cement float with a skim over them, with the skim removed what is the general guide for the weight that can be applied to that substrate?
My other option is to board out the bathroom, and that would give me something like 32kg/m2. Is it best to dot and dab the board or batten out? I see Wedi board takes the same weight as unplastered plasterboard.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Regards

| Re: travertine 12mm hung? DIYer!! | | Thanks for the prompt reply.
Is there a prefered tanking adhesive that has a better grab than other of the market. I was going to get BAL's, but as ever open to suggestion.
Cheers
